Abstract
Major worries among postgraduate students include stress due to academic burden, research pressure, financial problems, career instability, and family responsibility. Good stress management is important for sound mental health which in turn can improve academic performance. This paper seeks to investigate the impact of stress management on academic performance and psychological well-being of postgraduate students. The study used a descriptive research design to collect data from postgraduate students using a structured questionnaire. It looks into major sources of stress, stress management techniques used by the students, and their effects on academic performance. Results show that effective stress management practices like proper use of time, physical exercises, meditation, social support, and counseling can lead to good academic performance plus emotional stability and general well-being. It thus recommends that higher learning institutions should have a stress management program for postgraduate students.
